SPLOST: Roundabout to be installed at Burns and Dickens Roads
The Department of Transportation is building a roundabout at the intersection of Burns and Dickens roads near Lilburn.
Traffic engineers find roundabouts allow traffic to flow more smoothly than a four-way stop, and accidents tend to be glancing, instead of more serious T-bone collisions. The $1.4 million project is funded by the 2017 SPLOST program.
The County has several roundabouts in the works or recently completed, including projects at Constitution Boulevard and Langley Drive in Lawrenceville, Dogwood Road at Holly Brook Road near Brookwood High School, and Ridgedale Drive at Pharrs Road in Snellville.
