SPLOST: Sugarloaf Parkway underpass to receive lighting improvements

The Board of Commissioners will use SPLOST funding to upgrade the lighting at the I-85 and Sugarloaf Parkway underpass to LEDs. LED lights are more energy efficient than the current incandescent lighting, which was installed in 1997 when the interchange was built. The Sugarloaf Community Improvement District will contribute $30,000 toward the project and the County will contribute the remaining $165,000, funded by the 2017 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax program.
